William Bryant,

an American computer chess programmer [1] [2] [3]. He developed a chess interface for the Macintosh using the PowerPlant toolkit, first released in 1998 along with a TSCP port dubbed MacTSCP [4], soon superseded by his own engine for the Macintosh chess program Screamer [5].
