the Top Chess Engines Competition, prior to season 8 in 2015 called the Thoresen Chess Engines Competition, is a private tournament and rating list [2] , organized, directed and hosted by Martin Thoresen, and since season 8 by Anton Mihailov, CEO of Chessdom [3]. It’s goal is to provide viewers a live broadcast [4] of matches played between strong chess engines. Supported by original engine authors in providing their engines, and based on voluntariness and donation, TCEC does not enforce ICGA rules and sanctions concerning engine originality. Starting in 2010, TCEC caused a furor in February 2011, when Houdini 1.5 defeated Rybka 4.0 in a match, with the event recognized in various chess blogs [5]. After a break in 2011 [6] , Thoresen relaunched TCEC in January 2013 [7] . In August 2013, for the start of season 5, TCEC joined forces with Chessdom Arena [8] [9] .
