a Swedish professional programmer specialized within telecommunication [2]. As computer chess programmer, Perola is author of the Chess Engine Communication Protocol and UCI compatible chess engine Ruffian, which appeared in the computer chess scene in 2002 with promising results [3]. Ruffian won the DOCCC 2003 [4], and the (unofficial) Swedish Championship in 2003. MobyGames mentions Perola Valfridsson as author of Kasparov Chessmate [5] [6].
