a chess program by Matt Craighead, first trials in Pascal, finally re-written in C. Neptune participated at Don Beal’s Uniform-Platform Computer Chess Championship 1993, when Matt was 11 years old. Neptune was the forerunner of Morgoth, which was a complete rewrite of Neptune in 1995 [2] .
