Maríus Ólafsson [1] Maríus Ólafsson,
an Icelandic computer scientist, internet pioneer [2], technical staff at University of Iceland, and network manager at RHnet [3]. During the 80s, while affiliated with the University of Alberta, he researched along with Tony Marsland and Jonathan Schaeffer on Parallel Search and Virtual Tree Machines, a fixed finite network of processors together with an algorithm for deciding when and where to solve each subproblem. He was mentioned as co-author of Sun Phoenix at ACM 1988 and apparently contributed to the parallel search [4].
