Cock de Gorter [1] Cock de Gorter, (November 16, 1948 - June 16, 2019)

was a Dutch computer chess expert, tournament organizer, opening book author, and former chairman of the Dutch Computer Chess Federation (CSVN). He was primary initiator and organizer of the famous Aegon Man-Machine Tournaments and book author of the chess programs The King, Fritz, famous for WCCC 1995 games versus Deep Blue Prototype and the playoff versus Star Socrates [2] [3] and Tao, as well as various dedicated chess computers. Cock de Gorter died on June 16, 2019 on brain cancer, aged 70 [4].
