Chat
Wolfgang Delmare’s first chess program. Written in Pascal with a command line interface, Chat could be ported to various machines such as DOS PCs, and even mainframes.
Chat played the WCCC 1986 in Cologne, running on a CDC Cyper 175 of the University of Wuppertal, the WMCCC 1987 in Rome, running on a mini computer by Michels & Kleberhoff [2] [3] and the WMCCC 1988 in Almería [4], as dedicated unit on a 68020 processor with a SciSys Leonardo board as user interface [5]. According to Thorsten Czub, Chat had only a brute-force search depth of one ply, but was otherwise quite selective [6] .
